Eat Local Week is Sunshine Community Harvest’s annual celebration of the Sarasota-Manatee foodshed — the farmers, fishers, chefs, restaurants, waters, and working lands that make truly local food possible in our region. Now entering its fifteenth year, the week has become a meaningful platform for bringing the community together around the importance of local agriculture, regional seafood, environmental stewardship, and the relationships that sustain a resilient local food economy.

This year’s theme, The Farmer and the Fisher, reflects an intentional expansion of that conversation to include both the land and the water, recognizing that the future of local food in our region is inseparable from the health of our farms, Sarasota Bay, and the Gulf. We are partnering with a small number of respected community leaders and mission-aligned businesses that are offering events that invite the public into a deeper experience of place, food, and stewardship and help shape a regional conversation about what it means to nourish our community well — economically, environmentally, and culturally.
