Transition Sarasota Partners with Southface Florida House

We are excited to announce the partnership of Transition Sarasota with Southface Florida House. Southface Florida House has recently planted edible gardens that showcase plants native or adapted to Florida’s climate. The abundance of fruits and vegetables are now provided to Transition Sarasota to glean for donation to local food banks to feed those in need. This project embodies the Transition Sarasota mission of community-driven solutions for our local food system. So far, 169 pounds of produce has been gleaned and donated by Transition Sarasota with more to come!

Southface Florida House offers training, education, and technical services on behalf of sustainable energy and water conservation, recycling, landscape design and green building. Tours of the demonstration house and gardens are offered to homeowners to educate and offer ideas for water and energy conservation. Visit www.southface.org/sarasota/ for more information.
